Regional cooperation only way of confronting US unilateralism: Official

Chief of Inspection Organization of Iran Naser Qazi Seraj, who has traveled to China to attend the 'One Belt-One Road' International Conference, underlined that 'increasing regional cooperation and establishing institutions to expand foreign trade in Asia is one of the ways to tackle US avarices and the monetary monopoly.'

The Iranian senior official on Thursday in a meeting with the Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of China in Beijing praised the Chinese government's stance against the US unilateralism and to oppose the outrageous sanctions against the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He emphasized that the 'One Belt-One Road' initiative is effective in generating economic growth in the member states and increasing the national currency value and GDP of the member states.

He referred to expansion of ties on the Asian, European and African continents as a civilian and cultural issue in the context of 'One Belt-One Road' initiative, and stated that 'The Silk Road is a venue for the introduction of the great civilizations of the world to each other.'

Qazi Seraj referred to the 'One Belt-One Road' initiative as an opportunity for the emergence of a model for monitoring, inspection and transparency based on Eastern cultures and considered its presentation to other cultures that are involved in this project as significant.

In another part of his remarks, the Iranian official announced the readiness of Inspection Organization of Iran for full cooperation in line with judicial cooperation, monitoring and inspection, ombudsman, anti-corruption cooperation with other countries.

The Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of China also for his part thanked him and accompanying delegation, for his participation in the second international 'One Belt-One Road' in China and announced his country’s readiness for any cooperation in the various fields with Iran.

The second international 'One Belt-One Road' Conference began in Beijing on Thursday with the presence of delegations from 110 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On behalf of the Islamic Republic of Iran, three delegations headed by Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Farhad Dejpasand, Chief of Inspection Organization of Iran Naser Qazi Seraj, and Haddad Adel, member of the Expediency Council have participated at the conference.

During his visit to Kazakhstan and Indonesia in July 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the construction of the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and “21st-Century Maritime Silk Road|, respectively, which eventually came up with the title 'One Belt, One Road” and was introduced to the world.

The project initially began with China’s investment of more than one trillion dollars, and so far 124 countries and 29 international organizations have signed a cooperation agreement with China.

The official opening ceremony of this summit was scheduled to be held with the presence of Chinese President Xi JinPing in Beijing on Friday.

The 2nd international 'One Belt-One Road' Conference continues until 27 April.
