To implement the project for maintaining and increasing oil production from North Yaran oil field, that has suffered a decease, the ESP was installed in Well No. 14 of the joint oilfield, Arash Baqerzadeh said on Friday.
It is expected that the well will be restored in 10 days with the production resumption becoming possible, he said.
To optimize the oil production in the field, other ESPs will be installed in 10 oil wells by the end of the year, Baqerzadeh said.
The project for development of North Yaran oil field with a production capacity of 30,000 bpd (barrels per day) has started to be implemented since 2016.
'The production cut in the field prompted us to use ESPs to recover it,' the official said.
The oil field is located 130 kilometers to the west of Ahvaz, provincial capital of Khuzestan, in a region bordering Iraq, close to Hoor al-Azim lagoon.
