In a live televised address, President Rouhani said the list of essential goods covered by the official forex rate will be announced later.

He said the cabinet has agreed to strictly monitor the process of spending the forex of 42,000 rials up to the final stage of meeting the consumers' needs.

'Today, people should consider forex as matter of national reputation. This matter should be observed by all; if the government tries to earn more forex and at the same time people try to collect the forex and keep it in a corner; we will never succeed.'
