Official: Iran, Azerbaijan interested in broadening IT ties

Speaking to IRNA on Friday, Elmir Valizadeh said Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy various capacities and experiences in information technology field, adding that mutual using of these capacities will help developing communication sectors of both countries.

He also referred to holding the second expert work group of Iran and Azerbaijan as aiming to discuss ways to promote economic relations.

The event was held with the attendance of head of Communication Regulatory Authority of Iran Hossein Fallah Joshaqani and Elmir Valizadeh on May 15-16.

Underlining the fact that both countries have long-standing commonalities, he said the presidents of both countries have issued necessary orders for developing relations.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Valizadeh said the mutual participation of Iranian and Azeri officials in various events namely in exhibitions and sharing their experiences indicate both sides’ determination for broadening ties in information and technology fields.

He went on to say that Iran and Azerbaijan are determined to implement joint ventures in startup and communication lines, adding that Azerbaijan is trying to develop cooperation at regional level with Russia and Turkey.

Valizadeh noted that the regional cooperation of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey in startup field will continue.
