Minister: 1,000 Iranians receive permits to work in Denmark

Rabiei made the remarks to the Islamic Republic News Agency on Tuesday while elaborating on his 3-day visit to Denmark.

He added that Denmark has always been interested to absorb manpower from Iran, so we intend to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning occupation of Iranians in Denmark and their needs to foreign manpower, especially in the field of information technology and engineering.

Rabiei said that during his meeting with Danish Labor Minister they discussed signing a memorandum of understanding on technical and vocational skills, adding, 'Also we are to discuss social supports and treatment of addiction issues.'

Exchanging experiences on retirement funds will also be another subject to be discussed in this meeting.

The minister reminded that there exists good capacity in Iran's medicine market, and added that Iranian pharmaceutical firms need technical renovation and Denmark has invested 70 million euro in this field.

Denmark has long history in diary industry and they cooperated with Iran in this sector and now for renovation of technology to produce dried milk powder 'we are going to hold talks with them'.

Rabiei added that dried milk and baby dried milk are two strategic goods for Iran, adding, 'We intend to cooperate with Denmark to produce them.'

Ali Rabiei earlier told IRNA that last year that 2,000 skilled workers in the sectors of nursing, communication technology, oil and gas had been dispatched to abroad.

According to the minister, talks have been held by several countries like Australia, Canada, Japan and South Korea, which had already accepted Iranian manpower, for new wave of dispatching work forces.
