Medicine exports rise to $79 million

On Saturday, Mehrdad Aliyan, at the press conference of the fourth international fair of Iran Pharma Pharmaceuticals and related industries in Imam Khomeini's Mosalla, added, 'There are several statistics available for export of medicines in Trade Development Organization; the export is mirror of domestic products given the state of the country facing problems.'

He said, 'Of course, there are arrangements for exporting, and pharmaceutical companies are not inexperienced in this area despite all the problems. In fact, there are unknown soldiers in exporting medicines that know what to do.'

'When we register Iranian medicine in markets like Russia, we have reached the quality that they accept from us,' he said. 'Even some Iranian pharmaceutical companies are establishing a company in Turkey.'

Morteza Kheirabadi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Pharmaceutical Industries Syndicate, also mentioned the controversial behavior of US President Donald Trump on sanctions against Iran, and said that at the time of the sanctions, Trump announced that agricultural, pharmaceutical and medical supplies were exempted from sanctions, but 'we were witnessing it was a big lie'.

He added that they had contacted foreign companies and even wrote to some pharmaceutical companies that they had no right to cooperate with Iran in the field of medicine.
