Iran, Turkey trade volume to hit $12 billion

'In the last six months of this year, the volume of economic trade of the two countries hit $ 8 billion,' Reaz Kami said Tuesday, adding that the volume of trade between Iran and Turkey is now acceptable.

He expressed, “Amid strict sanctions in 2012, the volume of economic trade between Iran and Turkey was about $ 22 billion and after Iran’s nuclear deal the volume was around $ 11 billion.'

He went on to say that over 50 percent of Iran's exports are destined to Turkey.

Head of the Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran-Turkey noted that it was expected to increase the volume of Iranian-Turkish economic exchange with the return of the oppressive American sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Considering the cultural commonalities between the region and turkey, most of the country's investments have been made in this region, particularly in Aras special zone,' Kami continued, adding with regard to the US sanctions against Iran, cooperation between the economic activists of the two countries is very important.
