Iran speaker calls for activation of economic diplomacy

Ali Larijani noted that the country's economic problems will not be resolved unless exports of Iranian products to regional and international markets increase.

In order to activate diplomacy in economic field, the decision makers should design a model in cooperation with the experts, the speaker added.

He said that promotion of economic diplomacy needs an effective mechanism.

Economic diplomacy has been a top priority for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during his second term in office.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in 2017 that economic diplomacy will be the Foreign Ministry’s top priority in the next four years.
