Iran, Nizhny Novgorod exchange $54m worth of goods in 2016

He made the remarks in a meeting with Governor General of Markazi Province Mahmoud Zamani Qomi.

Paper, carton, hi-tech industries and oil seeds were exported from Nizhny Novgorod while fruits, nuts and citrus were imported from Iran.

Cherkasov said Nizhny Novgorod doors are open for interaction and cooperation with Iran and the province is ready for cooperation with Iran in the fields of manufacturing plane, car and ship with Iran.

The governor general, for his part, said that Markazi province is also interested to increase its economic ties with Nizhny Novgorod province and said that the figure of 54 million dollars is low figure considering capacities of Iran and the Russian province and it could be multi-folded easily.

The Russian trade delegation in their 2-day visit to Markazi province visited several industrial units and held meetings with industrialists of the province.

Markazi province with 3,000 industrial units is the fourth hub of country in industry and the second one in main industries, which ranks first in diversity of industrial products.
