Iran MP calls for expanding regional cooperation in economic field

'Iran, Russia and China should boost bilateral and multilateral relations with countries like India, Pakistan and Turkey and establish new frameworks for economic cooperation in the region,' Head of Majlis (parliament) Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said in an international conference held in Saratov, Russia.

He called for the establishment of a new economic mechanism in the region given the US President Donald Trump's irrational policies.

Boroujerdi at the head of a delegation left Moscow for Saratov on Sunday to attend a conference dubbed as 'Future of regions: Development of cooperation', with the aim to consider and exchange experiences in the field of development of regions, establishment of trade relations between companies as well as businessmen, investors and designing a common proposal to solve economic problems of the regions.

The Iranian delegation attended a panel with title of 'Digital economy, improving commercial situation, development of agricultural crops market, technology growth in industrial complexes, tourism, commercial and trade development.'

Saratov port city is capital of Saratov province in southwest of Russia.

The port city had wide range of trade connections with Iran through Caspian Sea and Volga River.
