
Signatories to the agreement were Head of Daske Bank MENA Division Karsten Stroiberg and governors of Iranian banks of Keshavarzi, Mellat, Pasargad, Sepah, Parsian, Saman, Tejarat, Melli Iran, Sanat-O-Madan and Eqtesade Novin. Iran's Deputy Minister of Economy and head of the Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance Organization Mohammad Khazaei and Deputy Goernnor of the Centeral Bank of Iran for Currency Affairs Seyyed Ahmad Araqchi and Iran’s Ambassador to Austria Ebadollah Molaei were also present in the signing ceremony at Iranian ambassador’s residence in Vienna .
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed late on Thursday by the EKF Bank of Denmark aimed at financing different infrastructural projects in Iran.
Danske Bank, that operates in 16 countries, offers services in the fields of insurance and housing in addition to banking services.
By virtue of the agreement, Danish bank’s resources will finance Iranian developmental and production projects undertaken by the private and state-run sectors.
However, the agreement signed with the Danish EKF Bank will enable it to finance Iranian projects in various sectors later.
The first banking agreement between Iran and Europe following the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed on September 21 between 14 Iranian banks and Austria's Oberbank which will extend a line of credit worth one billion euros for the Iranian infrastructural projects.
