Iran gov't eyeing to create over 1m jobs this year

Nobakht, also the head of Iran's Plan and Budget Organization, said that the government has allocated some 734 trillion rials to help create more jobs this year.

All the country's provinces have a share from this amount of money and the share of no province will be paid to another one, Nobakht said.

Referring to naming the new Iranian year by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the year of support for domestic products, the vice-president said, 'If our economy is meant to make progress, it cannot be done thorough imports.'

He noted that in order to boost gross domestic product (GDP), the country needs more investment and the domestic factories need to produce more commodities.

'We have to be able to supply high-quality products and services so that the people will prefer to support their co-citizens,' the official said.
