Iran gas condensates exports up after US JCPOA withdrawal

US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.

This is while most world powers including Russia, China, and European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.

During the Iranian calendar month of Ordibehesht (April21-May21) 1,061,934 tons of gas condensates worth $ 1,091,298,000 were exported from South Pars, Managing Director of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone Customs Ahmad Pour Heidar told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Some 1,594,890 tons of non-oil products worth $ 753, 677,000 were exported from South Pars during the last month, he added

The exported products showed a 11% rise in weight and 19% growth in value, he added.

As the most important products of the South Pars field, gas condensates, methanol, propane, polyethylene, sulfur, urea, styrene, ammonia and crude oil worth $ 1,844,975,000 were exported, he noted.

The products were shipped to China, Japan, South Korea, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt, the UAE and Kuwait, Pour Heidar said.

The South Pars/North Dome field is a natural-gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is by far the world's largest natural gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar.
