'According to the 2016 statistics of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Iran produces 16% of the trout in the world,' said Hossein Abdulhay.
Abdulhay added that Iran produced 1.2 million tons of aquaculture products last year.
Saying that Iran also produced 200 million aquarium fish as well, he added Iran holds 10th and 5th places in production of shrimps and warm water fish, which are planned to improve.
Iran also produces 2,500 tons of caviar fish.
