Round the clock operation of Astara, Bileh Savar and Jolfa border crossings as of May 1 will help strengthen relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, the Iranian envoy said.

Mehdiyev, for his part, referred to the development of political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries, saying customs ties play an important role in enhancing bilateral relations.

Regular meetings between Iranian and Azeri customs officials at joint border points will be effective in developing Tehran-Baku ties, he said.
