Over 35,000 man-hours was spent by engineers and technicians from 15 fields of expertise collaborated to take the grounded aircraft back to service, according to the press release published on the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) website.
The fighter successfully passed the final tests and returned to Iran army’s air fleet on Tuesday morning.
Before Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, only American engineers were authorized to carry out the maintenance operations of the F-14 fighter planes, which is now fully implemented by Iranian engineers.
