In his meeting with Chairman of Azerbaijan National Assembly Ogtay Asadov, Iranian Speaker Ali Larijani expressing that relations between the two countries are sincere, he said, 'The historical roots and good relations between the two countries will make the visit of the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament an opportunity to promote the level of trade, economic and parliamentary relations between the two countries.'
The speaker of the Iranian parliament stated, 'There is no limit to the cooperation with the Azerbaijani Republic. There is a favorable opinion in the Islamic Republic's parliament for full cooperation with Azerbaijan. We consider you as our friend and brother'.
He stated that the Azerbaijani friendship group is active in the Iranian parliament, adding that the members of this friendship group are actively pursuing parliamentary cooperation and developing economic relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Ogtay Asadov, expressed his satisfaction with the presence in Iran, 'The political relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have been greatly developed, and the presidents of the two countries have met many times and had useful meetings.'
Expressing the demand for more active economic relations between the two countries, he said, 'In 2018, the volume of trade between Iran and Azerbaijan has increased by 40% and has reached nearly $ 400 million. We must, of course, target the level of trade to increase above it.
