Iran 1st VP due in Bolivia on Thursday to attend GECF Summit

The fourth Gas Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum opened in Bolivia on November 20 and will continue until November 24.

Jahangiri has plans to brief the participants on Iran's measures to boost the country's economy, particularly in the energy sector.

The GECF was founded in 2008 with the purpose of making coordination in production, exports and controlling the price of natural gas.

Iran, Algeria, Bolivia, Tropical Guinea, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, the UAE and Venezuela constitute the member-states of the GECF which holds 42% of global gas production as well as 70% of world gas reserves.

The 2nd GECF Gas Summit was hosted by the Iranian capital in 2014.
