The ‘Industrial Expo 2017’ has been organized by Gujranwala Business Center in collaboration with Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and continues till December 10.
Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost during his visit to the Industrial city also met with the representatives of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and discussed ways to enhance trade ties between the two countries.
Both sides also discussed problems and obstacles hampering the expansion of trade between the two countries.
The envoy noted that last year witnessed a growth of 35 percent in trade ties between Iran and Pakistan, adding that more steps need to be taken to further enhance the bilateral trade.
He added that first phase of the Chabahar port will be inaugurated next week with the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani while officials from 27 countries would also attend the ceremony.
The Iranian diplomat invited Pakistani businessmen to invest their money in the Iranian port and get the full advantage of the business opportunities over there.
Mehdi Honardoost also visited Pakistan's largest rice processing and packaging plant and factories of ceramic ware.
The leaders of the two countries have agreed to increase the bilateral trade volume to $ 5 billion, but right now the bilateral trade is $ 1.2 billion which is quite low.
