Govt must accept Iranian offer to join Chabahar port: Pak trader

Khawaja Habbib Ur Rehman said this during a meeting with Iran's commercial attaché in Pakistan.
He went on to say that recent visit of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Islamabad would further pave the way for enhancement of Iran-Pakistan economic cooperation.

He added that during his visit, Mr. Zarif offered to link Gwadar with Chabahar harbor which Pakistan should accept without any haste because it would help change the economic spectrum of Iran and Pakistan.

Rehman was of the view that instead of sanctions we can link regional states through connectivity network.

He said that soon Iran and Pakistan would reach a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which would help in taking the bilateral trade volume upto 5 billion dollars as agreed between the leaders of the two countries.

He called for resumption of banking ties between Iran and Pakistan, adding that banks of both countries should open branches in each other’s countries.
