Europe to cooperate with Iran on industrialization: Envoy

'Europe is fully ready for cooperation with Iran on trade, transit and revenue generation,' Austria's Ambassador to Tehran Stefan Scholz said in a meeting attended by European envoys residing in Tehran.

Knowledge management and joint learning play vital roles in the cooperation, he said, adding that all the tools for cooperation are available.

Digital currencies system is one capacity that Iran can use, he suggested.

The European Union also pursues opening windows for financial ties with Iran, as the halt of exports to the county has imposed a 10-billion-dollar loss for the Union, the diplomat said.

This week an Iranian bank entered the electronic system; a development that provides opportunities for Europe to cooperate with Iran, the Austrian diplomat said.

Iran should be encouraged to implement international standards, including Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), he said.

The forum on Monday evening was attended by Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the country's Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri, and representatives of privatee sectors, foreign ambassadors and brokers in Tehran.
