Ebrahim Hosseini told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the figures show growths of 75 percent and 57 percent in terms of weight and value, respectively, compared to last year's corresponding period.
He listed major the export items in this time-span as steel and iron round bars, dairy products, cement, tomato paste and polystyrene, adding they were mostly destined to Turkmenistan, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey and Afghanistan.
Hosseini noted that a part of the exported items, 27,334 tons ($ 13.26 million), were transported to their destinations via Incheh Borun railroad.
He put the province’s imports during the same nine-month period to December 21 at 47,380 tons and $ 22 million the weight and value, respectively.
Hosseini said import items in the same duration included cereals, oil seeds and raw materials, listing the exporters as Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and China.
He noted that Golestan Province’s customs office earned $ 2.18 million from exporting and importing products during this period, indicating an 81-percent growth year-on-year.
Incheh Borun is a city and capital of Dashli Borun district, in Gonbad-e Qabus County, Golestan Province. The city’s population stands at 350,000.
