China insistent on importing oil from Iran: Expert

John Driscoll, Director of JTD Energy Services, said that China does not care about Trump's remarks and threats, Chinese websites reported on Tuesday.

As Driscoll believes, China and India as two major importers of Iran's oil do not care about the US oil sanctions.

According to reports, the United States have been trying to put pressure on Asian and African states to decrease oil imports from Iran, and this is while some countries including India, Japan and Turkey still resist the pressure. Furthermore, the US officials have not held talks yet with China and India as two major importers of Iran oil on the issue.

Although China, India, South Korea and Japan are the US main targets, national interests are the first those countries will take into consideration, JTD director said.

He added Seoul and Tokyo are under more intense pressure as the two are bargaining about dispensation.

But, the situation for Beijing and New Delhi is different because they do not want to even think seriously about the US threats, the energy expert added.

The question is that China and India will continue oil imports from Iran as the two are the main partners and buyers of Iran's oil, the expert said.

After Washington's May 8 exit from the Iran Deal formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the US gave 90 to 180 wind-down period to other countries before it starts re-imposing sanctions on Tehran on November 4.

In response to the US sanctions, Iran's first Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri announced on July 1 that the Iranian government is to offer the country's oil through national stock exchange as the US has targeted Iranian oil sector in order to restrict the country's exports.
