Cargo train travels from Poland to Iran

The company reported on Thursday that the testing container train moved from Poland in the framework of transportation plan in international route of South-West and entered Astara Station in Iran and now is returning.

According to the report, 'A.D.E. Container Company' affiliated to Azerbaijan Republic Railway Company, as contractor of the plan, with collaboration of Swiss Company 'Hupac Intermodal' successfully executed the plan.

The testing container train totally paved 2,356 kilometers, including 399 kilometers in Poland territory, 965 kilometers in Ukraine, 396 kilometers in Georgia and 596 kilometers in Azerbaijan Republic territory and them Iran in nine days.

The train is equipped with GPS system, so during its move it can be traced.

Slovkev Station in Poland is in conjunction for railroad width 1520 mm and European standard of 1435 mm, which prepares the possibility to deliver consignments from west European states to this station and then prepared possibility to transport them through South-West Route.

The aim of launching this route is to transfer consignments from Southwest Asian countries to Eastern Europe and then to Western Europe through Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia and Ukraine.
