Brazil ready to accompany Iran in sanction era: Envoy

'Some Brazilian banks have transactions with Iranian banks, but if there is any problem in transferring currencies and investments of the Brazilian companies to Iran, we can overcome the problems through barter trades,' Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos said in a meeting with local officials in the western Iranian Province of Kermanshah on Sunday.

Referring to a meeting he had with Iran's health minister, the ambassador said, 'We reached good results for exporting hospital and medical equipment with the state-of-the-art technology to Iran.'

He also welcomed cooperation between Brazil and Kermanshah on petrochemical, water, agriculture, and mining while pledging to set the required ground for Brazilian and Kermanshah businesspersons.

Trade exchanges between Iran and Brazil over past year was about $ 2.5 billion, with Iran's imports forming the bulk of the trade.

Brazil also re-exports some $ 2 billion worth of products of other countries to Iran.
