Brazil keen on boosting economic, environmental ties with Iran

Incumbent Chairman of Senate Commission of Foreign Relations and National Defense Fernando Collor de Mello held talks with Iran’s Finance Minister Farhad Dejpasand on Monday.

“Brazil boasts of very good capacities for promoting ties with Iran,” de Mello said.

Dejpasand, for his part, stressed the need for deepening bilateral economic ties to help boost mutual interests, saying that promoting exports symbolizes deepening economic ties, which will take place when exports witness a remarkable growth.

Stressing the need for holding regular meetings of joint commission and pursue implementation of its ratifications, the minister hoped that the meeting will open a new chapter in bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed on holding Iran-Brazil Joint Economic Cooperation Commission meeting in late March.

Iran is the fifth big economic partner of Brazil in trade of agricultural products.
