“Attracting foreign investment is part of the general policies that the supreme leader has approved of,” Jahangiri said.
He argued the economic situation is not as bad as people think it is, saying the public perception of economic hardship has been partly influenced by hardliners propaganda.
Referring to the recent unrest in Iran, mostly outcome of bad economic conditions, the Iranian First Vice President stressed that the window is always open to reforms in the country.
“Those who have an accurate understanding of the Islamic Republic know its flexibility in particular vis-à-vis its people is high,” Jahangiri said.
“More than 60 percent of people in Iran still believe they can pursue their demands through reforms . . . and will definitely achieve” what they seek, he added.
'The Islamic Republic can reform and survive,' he said.
