Afghanistan opens Farah border to Iranian goods

Mohammad Naser Mehri, a spokesman for the governor of Farah Province in West Afghanistan told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the Farah border between Iran's South Khorasan and Afghanistan's Farah province has been opened after 50 days of closure.

Following the closure of Farah border on September 17, the region's people held several demonstrations to protest the measure.

Farah is the capital of Farah Province in western Afghanistan. It is located on the Farah River, close to the border with Iran. It is one of the largest cities of western Afghanistan in terms of population.
