Afghanistan exports goods to world via Chabahar

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony inaugurating strategic equipment of Chabahar, Emam Mohammad Verimaj said that his country will hopefully use the port for exports as it utilizes Sea of Oman and Indian Ocean.

“Afghan government has entered into talks with World Bank for receiving finance for completion of Khaf-Herat railway,” he said.

“Today, we witness exports of goods to India through Chabahar port,” he said, noting that the cargo includes 750 tons of cereals and precious stones.

Afghanistan is terribly keen on using the port, he said, hoping that it would be used for exporting goods to southeastern Asian states.
