Morteza Barari in a recent interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) said, 'In addition, about 2,700 people work in downstream space industries.'
Currently more than 10,000 employees work in Iranian space supply chain.
Referring to the expansion of downstream companies, he added, 'In recent years, telemetry and other activities have been assigned to private sector contractors.'
Earlier this year in June, Barari announced that the private sector possesses 260 billion dollars out of total 345 billion dollars revenue of space industry.
Elsewhere in his remarks, head of Iranian space body referred to the innovative space startups event held last week and described it as an important step toward facilitating the creation of new businesses in the space industry.
