Zarif: Iran never concerned about talks with friendly countries

Elaborating on prospects of Iran's foreign policy in light of the current international and regional situation, Zarif said the country's foreign policy continues its logical and reasonable path.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is to visit Iran in next few days. Zarif described Abe's visit as that of a friendly country.

About the visit, Zarif said Iran will hold talks with the Japanese officials as Tehran is not concerned about negotiations with the friendly countries.

In line with following shuttle diplomacy, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas arrived in Tehran late on Sunday.

The Iranian foreign minister said that his talks with the Japanese premier will focus on realities of the July 2015 nuclear deal from which US withdrew unilaterally on May 8, 2018.

The UK, France, Germany, Russia, China and Iran are the remaining states parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

During Abe's stay, Iran will brief Japan on how the international society can take step towards saving the JCPOA achievements, which the European leaders believe should be kept alive.

On June 9, Zarif told reporters that world nations are trying to thwart the US sanctions as China and Russia have decided not to use dollar in economic transactions.

"Today is a good time for empathy and not letting US continue its unilateral policies against the world."
