Winds fan forest fire in north Iran

Local emergency forces are on the scene to daze the fire which is nearing the residential rural areas, Mehdi Valipour, managing director of Gilan Red Crescent Society, told reporters.

'The fire is under control, but it may spread due to the wind speed [of 50 km per hour],' he added.

According to reports given by the people, some local residents who were afraid of fire to reach their houses have been leaving the area.

Gilan Natural Resources Department had warned on March 24 against the increase of tempreture, and asked the new year tourist and local people not to set campfire in jungles.
