UNESCO regional office director visits old part of Yazd city

Laroche, who was in Yazd to attend 'adaptation with climate change and indigenous knowledge for water resources meeting', visited the area accompanied by officials of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in Yazd.

Zarch Qanat was registered as world heritage in the 40th meeting of world heritage committee meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.

The old part of Yazd city has been registered as world heritage in the 41st heritage committee meeting in Krakow, Poland, in July 2017.

Yazd is also known as the first mud-brick town in the world and the second city in the world with historical texture with 743 hectares area.
