Tehran City Theater saved from flames

'The fire started at 6:31, local time, (3:01 GMT) during a rehearsal, said Jalaal Maleki.

Maleki said that a projector that was too close to the theaters main screen had caused the fire.

The City Theaters normal activities are being done now.

The artistically and culturally important building City Theater is a 46-year old performing arts complex downtown Tehran, which was built by architect Ali Sardar Afkhami and opened to the public in 1972.

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has overseen its operations and activities.
