Tehran, Baku ready for cultural cooperation

Salehi who arrived in Baku on Tuesday afternoon to attend Iran’s Cultural Week, told reporters after a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, “We both were of the opinion that we can make ties more dynamic by relying on culture.”

He further noted that the Azeri president also underlined good neighborly relations between Tehran and Baku in various political, economic and cultural fields as well as numerous documents signed by the two countries’ presidents.

Salehi said that during the meeting, the two sides highlighted role of culture as a sustainable area between the two nations and countries, especially in bilateral ties.

Noting that cultural weeks can bring the two countries closer to each other more than ever, Salehi said that designation of Tabriz as tourism capital of Islamic world and Nachichevan as cultural capital of Islamic world can open a new chapter in Iran-Azerbaijan ties.
