TAP chief lauds Iran gov't support for media

The extent of support provided by the government to the Iranian media is surprising, Lutfi al-Arfaoui, director general of the official Tunisian news agency said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Zia Hashemi.

The Tunisian official said that TAP is ready to develop cooperation with Iran and take practical steps in this regard.

Al-Arfaoui called for exchange of media delegations and promotion of all-out ties between Tehran and Tunis.

He referred to the western powers' attempts to sabotage the good relations among Muslim countries and said that boost of media cooperation can promote their relations in various fields of economy, culture and tourism.

The IRNA and TAP chiefs agreed also to hold joint photo exhibitions.
