
Zaphira Yacef Saadi, head of the cultural institute Zafira, that hosted the festival told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the festival's goal is promoting friendship and peace among the world people.
Commenting on Iran's culture, civilization and art, she said that in the festival translated versions of some of the works of Iranian poets, including Attar and Rumi, were recited that were welcomed by the audience.
Iran's cultural attaché at the country's embassy in Algeria Amir Mousavi said many foreign representatives and ambassadors as well as Algerian figures attended the festival.
He also said that such festivals are opportunities for dialogue among Iran and Arab countries.
Jamal Shourjeh, the well-known Iranian director, who is making a film in cooperation with Algeria, attended the festival and was greeted by prominent Algerian figures.
