Rheumatoid arthritis treatment drug produced in Iran

At the opening ceremony of the drug, Ahmad Reza Jamshidi highlighted, “This drug is being used to treat the disease of rheumatoid arthritis. Of course, a few years ago, the foreign type of the drug entered the country, but because of the high cost that we could not prescribe to the patient and the patient was not able to pay for the drug. Also, no insurance covers this medication, because it is a chronic disease and has a long treatment period, and as a result we had to produce it in the country.'

Nima Sepehri, director of the pharmaceutical company that produced the medicine, also said about the drug, 'For the first time, we succeeded in producing 'Tofacitinib' in the country. This drug is being used for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis and patients with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.'
