
According to the seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 7:42 hours local time (4:12 GMT Saturday) in the depth of 10 kilometers.
The epicenter of the quake was registered at 4 km of Qasr-e Shirin, 22 km of Sarpol-e Zahab and 40 km of Ezgeleh.
Earlier, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the western province of Kermanshah and the regions bordering Iraq on Nov 12. The quake was felt in some neighboring countries as well.
Based on the latest statistics, at least 436 people have been killed and over 9,000 injured in quake-stricken areas in Iran.
