According to IRNA, a graduation ceremony was held for the graduates who studied in elementary, intermediate and advanced levels in Iran's Culture House on the occasion with the presence of the cultural representative of Iran, a number of professors, the students and Iranian language and culture lovers.
Talking in the ceremony, Iran's cultural representative in the city Mehdi Zare, said Iran's culture survived and grew thanks to the Persian language and literature.
He added Iran's Culture House is committed to working to expand and cause flourishment of the Persian language and literature in Mumbai and the western and southern states in India.
Referring to the cultural ties between Iran and India, Zare said such a relationship is much deeper than political communication, because in politics any relationship between countries leads to the benefit of governments while in cultural areas such relationships are built between nations based on discourse.
For decades and even centuries, Iranian residents have been able to live peacefully alongside with Indians, he said, noting that the Persian language has been the official language of the vast country of India for more than eight centuries so if historians want to do research about the ancient civilization of the country, first they must learn Persian language and literature.
Mohammad Mir Saraji, the Persian language teacher too addressed the ceremony and said Persian language and literature learning gives a good key to knowing the rich Iranian culture.
A total of fifty students had participated in the two-month course.
