The Public Relations Office of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) quoted Musa Sabzai, head of the probing operations in Ramazan and Ahangaran hills as saying that the hills are located in the vicinity of the city of Boroujerd and on the eastern margin of the Silakhor Plain that were registered in the list of National Monuments in 1381 (2002-2003).
Referring to the distance of 200 meters between the mentioned two sites, he said given that Khorramabad-Arak highway passes through the middle of the two enclosures, in order to prevent the destruction trend of the two sites their limits should be precisely determined.
In fact, by specifying the limits of the area of the two hills and by providing the relevant criteria, in addition to protecting the two sites appropriate solutions could be presented, he added.
The archeologist continued by saying that 31 boreholes measuring 1.5 × 1.5 m have been excavated in line with the probing operations to determine the extent of penetration of the highway into the limits of the Ramazan and Ahangaran hills and noted that based on the findings achieved from the boreholes created around and between the distance between the two sites, the hills embrace artifacts of the Iron Age, the historical period (Parthian and Sassanid), and the early Islamic centuries.
