In a statement, the minister said that the government of Pakistan on behalf of entire Pakistani nation expresses deep condolences over loss of precious human lives in the wake of recent flooding in Iran.

“In the hour of pain and sorrow every citizen of Pakistan is with the people of Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said.

On behalf of the government of Pakistan, Chaudhry Fawad offered full cooperation and assistance to the government and people of Iran.

Meanwhile as per the directives of Prime Minister Iran Khan Pakistan is sending two C-130 aircrafts to Iran carrying relief goods for flood-stricken people.

According to Pakistan’s foreign ministry statement Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned the Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif to convey the grief of the government and people of Pakistan on the situation created by unprecedented flash floods in Iran.

Earlier Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet said that Pakistan was ready to provide any required humanitarian assistance to Iran.

Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and 478 others were injured while a large number of people were displaced across Iran.

The disaster coincided with the high season of Iranians' trips as they were spending the national two-week holidays of Nowruz.
