Pakistan foreign ministry spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal in a tweet message on Monday said people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with their brethren in Iran at this difficult time.
“Pakistan is ready to extend humanitarian support to #Iran in rescue efforts,” he said.
He further said Pakistan is pained by continuing devastation and loss of life caused by flash floods in Iran. “Our deepest condolences to families of those who died and are injured,” he said.
Earlier Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet said that Pakistan was ready to provide any required humanitarian assistance to Iran.
“Our prayers go to the people of Iran as they deal with unprecedented flooding. We stand ready to provide any humanitarian assistance required,” he said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Pakistani political and religious groups have also launched a campaign across the country and abroad to collect humanitarian aid to help Iranian flood-stricken people.
Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and 478 others were injured while a large number of people were displaced across Iran.
The disaster coincided with the high season of Iranians' trips as they were spending the national two-week holidays of Nowruz.
