Oman, Iran parliaments' libraries to boost cooperation

Head of Oman's National Archives and Records Hamad Bin Mohammad Al-Dhoyani visited Iran's Parliament Library, Museum and Documentation Center, and was briefed on the center's activities and services.

He also met with head of Iran's Parliament library Ali Emad.

Referring to the history of the two countries' relations, the Omani official expressed his interest in holding joint forums and expositions with the aim of sharing experiences.

'Good neighbor can lead to strengthen the bilateral relations,' he said.

He also noted that the library is under supervision of Oman's parliament, but it acts independently in terms of political and executive issues.

The Iranian official, on his part, expressed the library's preparedness for more cooperation with the Omani library.

Holding a joint exposition of documents on the national day of Oman, exchanging experts, signing memorandum of understanding on cooperation, among others, were discussed in the meeting.

A collection of 30,000 manuscripts on various issues are available in Iran's Parliament library, all of which have been scanned and are in disposal of researchers.
