Official: Iranian, Russian businessmen need more information

Katyrin, who was speaking in a joint economic conference dubbed as 'Iran and Russia', underlined the necessity to activate embassies and commercial organizations of the two countries to promote cooperation.

He said that banking problems, especially in the fields of payment, customs digital statements, standards, certificates and etc, should be solved by mutual cooperation, while the two sides are not still aware about each other countries' regulations.

Katyrin said Russian Federal Chamber of Commerce combined of 200 different syndicates and unions, adding that the two sides should create appropriate situations for small- and medium-sized businessmen.

Iran and Russia trade conference was held here on Monday afternoon in the venue of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture.

Foreign trade statistics in the first half of year 2017 indicated 36 percent growth in comparison with the same period of the preceding year.

Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan said trade exchange volume between the two countries in the year of 2016 was 2.2 billion dollars, which the main part of it was Russian machineries, equipment, transportation, food materials and metals to Iran.

He said that tourism was also another growing industry between the two countries and said that in the year of 2016 more than 60,000 Iranian tourists visited Russia.
