Official: Iran promotes exporting medical equipment to Brazil

Director General for medical equipment department of Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Reza Masaeli underlined that in the preceding year (1396) medical equipment export was 24 million dollars and it is to reach to 240 million dollars this year.

Masaeli said Health Ministry with collaboration of Foreign Ministry is following up the issue of medical equipment export, so in this concern is accompanying foreign minister in his one week visit to Brazil, Senegal, Namibia and Uruguay.

He said one of the largest medical equipment exhibitions in the world is to be held in Brazil, Latin America, so in this visit the Iranian delegation is following up the issue of Iranian manufacturers' presence in the fair.

Masaeli pointed to promotion of qualification of domestic medical equipment, and said that promotion of these equipment upon international and European standards is one of the goals of the Health Ministry, and added that in current year (1397) all domestically-made medical equipment must receive European standards.
