No casualties reported in moderate quake west of Iran

Five teams of investigators dispatched to the town of Gilan-e-Gharb in the western province of Kermanshah, following the moderate quake, Spokesman of Iran's emergency services Mojtaba Khaledi said to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The epicenter of the quake was located at 45.66 degrees longitude and 34.15 degrees latitude.

In the meantime, Morteza Salimi, head of the Iranian Red Crescent's Relief and Rescue Organization said that no person have been referred to the region's hospitals for injuries resulted from the quake.

The tremor was also felt in the Iraqi capital Baghdad and in Kuwait.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 17: 11 hour's local time (1341 GMT) on Sunday at the depth of 10 km underground.

Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.

On November 12, 2017, a fatal 7.3-measuring earthquake hit the provincial city of Salas Babajani killing 620 people and injuring about 12,000 others.
