Mummy discovered in shrine compound in south Tehran

He told Islamic Republic News Agency on Monday that the mummy was found during development operation and digging western yard of the holy shrine.

The issue was declared to the related organizations and the operation was ceased.

Concerning rumors that the mummy belongs to the founder of Pahlavi Dynasty called the first Pahlavi, Khalilabadi said it is possible, because the corps is mummified, and the issue is being considered with the responsible bodies.

The council member said that experts from coroner's office and cultural heritage organization are under consideration and examination.

Director of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization of Shahr-e-Rey Amir Mosayeb Rahimzadeh said he was not aware about discovering mummy in the shrine compound.
