'The biggest and heaviest shipment of narcotics was confiscated on Monday evening,' said Brigadier-General Mohammad Ghanbari.
The caravan was stopped but opened fire on the police; the clash went on for four hours, he said.
He added that the killed and the injured drug dealers were taken to unknown points on the other side of the border by their fellowmen.
General Ghanbari said that the haul is the biggest found this year, and fortunately no police force was killed or harmed at the scene.
Seven Toyota Land Cruisers loaded with drugs and guns were confiscated, he said.
General Ghanbari said that more than 200 tons of different kinds or narcotics have been discovered in this Iranian year (starting on March 21, 2018), 125 tons of which has been discovered in Sistan-Baluchestan Province.
