According to a report by seismography center affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 17:15:12 hours local time (12:45 hours GMT) with its epicenter being registered at 57.38 degrees longitude and 30.70 degrees latitude.
The quake had no casualties, Kerman Crisis Management spokesman Mostafa Ayatollayi Mousavi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Over 3,000 tremors have hit Hojdak during the past 6 years.
Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, as it straddles several major fault lines that cover at least 90% of the country. Some of the quakes which hit different parts of Iran have been destructive, causing huge number of damage to life and property.
